Phase 1 Complete!!!

I am happy to report that we met our deadline!!! Phase 1 of the kitchen remodel is complete. These are not the greatest before and during pictures. I forgot to get some and so had to try to find some pictures.

*We know that the microwave and stove do not match up right now, the new stove will be moved over under the microwave and the counter to the left of the stove expanded some!!!
Phase 2 will start sometime after this weekend. Brian and I are heading out of town (post pictures will come next week to tell you where we are going) and the Grandparents are coming to stay with Kaylee!!!

Gymnastics

I took Kaylee to her first gymnastics class on friday. It was a class put on by the P.A.T program and was at Team Central gymnastics facility. I was not sure what to expect but it was pretty good. Kaylee was a little timid at first when we did a little dancing to warm up. After that, they just let them play on the equipment. I was a litte disappointed that they did not do more organized activites, but it would have been hard with most of the kids being around 3 years old. They tried a few things with them, like the parachute and some stretches. Kaylee loved just being there and loved jumping on the trampoline. She really wanted to get into the big foam pit and loved walking, or jumping on the trampoline in front of it. I finally put her in there and she couldn't move. It was pretty funny. She didn't panic though, she just kept trying to get out and then finally reached out her hands to me to lift her out.
These are two triangle mats that she loved walking up and down. I finaly got her to do a sumersault on them too.
This mat leads to a small foam pit. She was in and out of this the whole time we were there.
I thought for sure she would do a pull up, but no go. She wanted nothing to do with it. Surprsing since she tries to do a pull up on everything in the house.

Melted my heart, and then......

Most of you know that Brian and I have only one car right now. We have been doing this since last June when the lease on my car ran out. We have survived this long, but am afraid it is almost time to get a second vehicle. It works out most days, but some, we have to get VERY creative.

On some of the days, we take Brian to work so we can have the car and get out of the house. Brian always leans in and gives Kaylee a hug and a kiss before grabbing his bag from the backseat. The past few times of doing this, Kaylee immediately responds, "hug, hug." It just melts my heart.

Today was no different. I know Brian is smiling on the inside too:) Then, we go to Church for a Moms n Tots group. It was great group until I picked Kaylee up.

This is the "and then.... part." I am told we had an "incident." Kaylee apparently bit another child on the finger and then would not play nice the rest of the time after sitting in time-out. Now I know what it is like to hear people say that they feel like a failure at times in parenting. (before the Grandmas get worked up, we are fine.) I know she is only 19 months old, but where is she learning this? I also know that this is her first time doing it so maybe I shouldn't get worked up about it just yet. I was hoping by watching another child in the house she would learn to share and get along with others. I have really been feeling like we need to get out more and meet up with other people, especially some of children more her age too. Which is what is going to require another vehicle. I am trying to figure out if this is really what we need, or if the "winter blues" is just getting to me too.

On a better note, I am taking Kaylee to a gymnastics class tomorrow. It is put on by our Parents as Teachers program and I am very excited. Kaylee has been finding about any object she can in the house to do a pull up on, crawl through, or jump on, so I think this is going to be good for her. It is only one day, but then we will see how she does with other kids tomorrow too and see if she can follow some directions:)

Handyman (or Woman) - updated

I love having a husband that can do about anything.....until, he expects me to help out with everything also. Any guesses as to what he has me doing now? No, it is not a new kind of facial, I think it is about the opposite as that:)

I think our whole house is covered in this stuff now. I have to do some major cleanup over the next few days, I didn't sign up for this part of the remodel.
I forgot to add this picture, this is me and my handyman - just notice who is nice and clean:) oh the joys of having a handyman (and a handywoman)
****You are right, Nicole. This is the result of sanding the ceiling. The next step is painting the ceiling and then it is DONE!!! I did find out, though, that I will have to repaint the kitchen walls. Apparently, some plaster that got on the walls, when it is wiped off, it is taking the paint with it:( Bummer, I will not be buying paint from Ace Hardware again. I just painted the kitchen last year. Oh well, it will look good when it is all done!!!

Pony Tails

I just can't believe it is long enough to do this, but I am very excited!!!

Our Valentines Day

Brian and I decided to spend Valentines Day as a family. Brian got up with Kaylee in the morning and left me a card on my pillow:) It was sweet. We went to Church that morning and then headed to the Missouri Botanical Garden to see the Orchids. Kaylee had a lot of fun. She saw butterflies that were hung in different places. Everyone else in the place got a kick out of her running around saying "butterfly and flower." Also, don't you just love this little valentines shirt? I thought it was pretty cute:)
This one is a little grainy, but cute. She has taken an interest in looking through the camera with us and taking pictures. I see her getting her own little camera some day. Maybe when I know she will not throw it on the floor:)

Random videos!!!

My friend Kelli asked us how our kids play with their dads:) Here are two videos of some of the things Kaylee loves to do with her daddy!!

There are a few things I wanted to try and get recorded for how Kaylee is saying things. These are not the best videos, I told her she was not cooperating, which she then repeated me in saying the word cooperate. Pretty good I might say!! I still have to try and record how she says her name - it is pretty cute.

Girly Girl

Kaylee is turning into such a girly girl lately. It is so much fun.

There are bracelets (or anklets if you want also).....
strollers, babies, and purses!!!
Just don't look too closely at her hair.

If you also look closely and know much about me, you will notice that her purse matches mine!!!!
My parents found it while out of town and she loves it. We also got her the stroller (for $9!!!) and she has not put it down yet.....we almost had to take it to Church:)
