My little man

Happy:

Not so happy:
But cute either way!!!

Snow, Snow, and more SNOW!!!!

We have had more snow in these last few weeks than I can remember St. Louis getting in a long while. Kaylee has had so much fun in it.

I got this idea from other bloggers. Fill a water bottle with water and food coloring. Then they can "paint" the snow. She loved it!!!

Brian took her outside to play in the snow on saturday.

They had snowball fights,
built a snowman (not great packing snow so it became a mound),

went sledding,

and just plain had fun.

Mom and Carson hung out inside except to catch some pictures.

The right motivation

We are on round three of potty training. We almost had it a while back but then a nasty virus and lots of diarrhea lead to going back to a diaper. We gave up on it for a while as she refused to go on the potty. We tried stickers, along with a sticker chart. We tried skittles. Worked a few times and then the same result - refusing to go.

Then, I decided to try another treat - chocolate - womens favorite thing!!! Mom just has to stay out of it long enough for her to get some.

The result this time? She is potty training. She loves it and gets excited for her two M & M's for going pee and 4 for poo (although we have not hit that point yet.) The only catch this time? She refuses to wear big girl underwear. She wants to still wear a diaper, but she will keep it dry except for pooping (which actually I don't mind because it is easier to clean her up then.)

I am hoping this motivation will continue and we will soon get her into big girl underwear and be done with it:)

Out of the Mouths of Babes #1

I guess when you hit 2 1/2 years old, funny things start coming out of your mouth. I want to start recording some of these so someday, if my kids decide to read this blog, they will read some of the things they have said and get a good laugh too.

While running an errand the other day, Carson started crying.
Kaylee: "I think he don't like your driving, mama."

My mom got Kaylee a baby that cries and stuff, the batteries ran out the other day.
Kaylee: "My baby needs new batteries, mom. Carson doesn't need batteries though."

I bought Kaylee some cooking utensils for her kitchen.
Kaylee: My kitchen is not cool, when we get home, I will put these with my kitchen and then it will be cool."

We were at the chiropractor and I was laying on the table getting adjusted. Kaylee lifted up the side of my shirt just slightly and the commented: "Look at that tummy!!"

Changing her diaper in target bathroom. A lady was walking out while admiring Kaylee and Carson and commenting on them. Kaylee then said to her: "you have to say pootink to my poops."

1 Month stats

This is Kaylee at 1 month old:
At her 1 month visit (when she was actually five weeks old) she weighed 10 pounds 4 ounces.

This is Carson around 1 month old I still need to take a good picture of just him:
At his one month visit ( 1 day after turning 1 month old) he weighs 11 pounds 6 ounces. Looks like I am in store for another chubby baby:)
He was also 22 3/8 inches long. It puts him at 75 percentile for height and 90th percentile for weight. Pretty much following his sisters footsteps. I guess if they are going to look alike mind as well follow eachother too.

Carson David is 1 month old today!! Where did this last month go? Oh yea, to celebrating Christmas and New Years and lots of family time:) I will write more of a post tomorrow after his one month checkup. I can't wait to see how much he has grown because I can feel in my arms that is is quite a bit. He is so precious and a great little baby.

Christmas #2

I finally downloaded pictures from the camera and realized I had forgotten to blog about our second Christmas. So here it is in short form as I have a sleeping baby on me and am pretty tired myself.

New Years weekend we got together with Brian's family.

Great family shot!!
Highlight gift of the weekend for Kaylee. She played with this guitar the whole weekend and has not stopped playing with it since. She calls it her "singing thing."

It was a great weekend, especially since Brian's sister was in the U.S. with us again this year. It was great to have everyone together.

Christmas - part 2

We headed to Bloomington, IN last weekend to celebrate Christmas with Brian's family. It was a great weekend with the whole family in town!!

I will post more soon about the weekend but right now, both kids are in bed and my bed is calling my name for the next 2 hours until a sweet little boy calls for me.
