Our weekend was supposed to look like this:
Friday night: I would attend a wedding shower while Kaylee and daddy had some "daddy-daughter" time.
Saturday: Brian would have a "Man Day" with some friends and I would spend some time with another one of the wives and her son.
Sunday: Helping in the Church nursery and then Family Day
This is how the weekend went:
Friday: I had Kaylee sitting on my lap on the couch. She had a DVD cover in her hand and flung it backwards. As Brian puts it, "I did not blink fast enough!!" It caught me right in the eye. At first, I thought it just poked me in the eye, but after 30 minutes of not being able to open it, I had to call Brian at work. It was his time to get off work anyways, but wanted him to try and not stay too late so he could help watch Kaylee. We finally decided to go to an urgent clinic to see if I still had something in the eye or what was going on. They realized I had two main scratches on the eye. Corneal abrasions = not fun.
Saturday:
I kept my eyes closed most of the day, daddy got his "daddy-daughter" time at the house. Since I could not open my eye and it even hurt to have the injured one closed and open the good eye, I spent the entire day blind.
Sunday:
I could not help in the Church nursery - I did attend Church but everyone thought I had "pink eye" and I still could not have my eye open for long periods of time.
change of plans for our weekend, but that is ok. It is getting much better, but I am a little bummed that I could not do what we had originally planned for the weekend. Oh well, it was a good family weekend.

Cruise help?
Brian and I are looking at taking a cruise in the spring for our anniversary. I need some help though.
Has anyone taken a cruise? Where, how long, any advice that you can give of things you would do or not do again would be greatly appreciated.

Lesson Learned
I learned today that when you have a daughter who loves to take ALL the books off of her book shelf at home, it may NOT be a good idea to take her to either the library or Barnes and Noble.
Unfortunately, we did both today:)

Growing Up
I was looking at a few of her pictures that I have on the computer. I came across these pictures of her playing at the kitchen set. This was taken just over three months ago.

I know she has grown, but you never really know how much until you see comparison pictures. Look at how tall she is getting.

These were taken today as she was playing with the kitchen again, of course this is daily so it was easy to get pictures. I love the tippy toes!!

Riding Giraffe
Kaylee has figured out how to ride the giraffe instead of pushing it around as a walker. She is so proud of herself.

Temper Tantrums
Oh yes, we have them at 13 months old!!! I honestly started to laugh when she flew herself on the floor, then I grabbed the camera, then I discipline her. Isn't that the order every mom does it in:) I know, I just started something now.

and just to show a good picture after the negative ones- we recovered.

Ideas, Anyone?
I am looking for some ideas of games or crafts to do with Kaylee. I want to be able to challenge her, but am not on the creative side of the thinking box. We play ball, sing songs, read books, play peek a boo, and so on and so forth. I have gotten a puzzle out for her to do, and she takes all the pieces out but has not gotten the concept of putting them back in yet:) I built a fort for her the other day, but again, that turned into peek a boo.
I know as she gets older, some crafts will come in handy, but what do you (or did you) do with a 13 month old?
Ideas greatly appreciated!!!!

Remember When?
Remember when you used to sleep on your stomach with your butt up in the air? Or, maybe I am the only one who used to do that!! Well, not any more. I glanced in on Kaylee the other day at nap time and found her that way. I thought maybe it was just a fluke, but the next nap time she did the same thing. If she was not such a light sleeper and wake up to everything, I would have taken a picture of it.
She is just too cute:)

Thursday!!
I have way too many photos to go through. Here is our Thursday with photos that I do not have to do anything in photoshop too.
Last Thursday, Brian, Kaylee and I spent the day in Chicago. We went to Shedds Acquarium!!! It was great, and Kaylee loved it.

Our Wednesday
On Wednesday, Brian and I took Kaylee to Chicago. We met up with one of his friends from college and headed downtown!!! Here are Kristin's photos she got. They were so good I had to post them right away. I will have to post our later as I have not even had a chance to go through them.
Here is all of us sitting at a concert. Kristin had some of her friends come also so there was a ton of food.

Kaylee pretty much ate blueberries for dinner that evening.

We went walking on the magnificient mile.

Walking by the fountains.
What they call the "bean"

Smart girl!!
Our first Parents as Teachers meeting for this year was yesterday and they did her one year assessment. She passed with flying colors. In fact, I guess I can brag since it is my blog, she passed at a 14-16 month level in almost everything except being able to stand in the middle of the living room and take a few steps already. That gross motor skill she is right on track for being 12 months old. She is doing great. She "wowed" our PAT lady yesterday and it was even lunch time and nap time!!! I was a little nervous as how she would do.
I see her growing up more and more each day. It is kind of scary the things that she can do and the things I realize she understands already. It is so much fun!!!
Big plans starting tomorrow so look for more posts coming soon!!! I can't wait myself!!

Animal sounds
Kaylee has been learning her animal sounds lately. I think the lion is my favorite. She is a little "dainty" lion!!!
