Looking older

Here is a better look at Kaylee's haircut. I think she looks a few years older but I absolutely love it. It is so easy to take care of.

I'm a big Boy now!!!

I can not believe it has been 6 months. Almost to the hour:)

Carson,

You are such a joy and a great addition to this family. Ever since you learned how to smile, you have not stopped. Your laugh makes my heart smile. You and your sister already have a connection and I hope it stays this way always. Kaylee loves you so much. She hugs on you a lot (sometimes a little too hard) and is the best at making you laugh out loud. You now weigh 17 pounds, 14 ounces (60th percentile), and are 27 7/8 inches long (95th percentile).

I have never told your birth story, so hopefully 6 months later is not too late. We switched to a high risk doctor in anticipation of some complications. That meant more ultrasounds which we didn't mind at all. I remember the most important ultrasound, the one that we found out you were going to be a boy. I could see in your daddy's eye that he was already dreaming of boy scout and camping trips. If you are a teenager(and at that stage where hanging with your dad is not cool), would you mind indulging you dad and go camping with him:) Later in the pregnancy, we were very anxious to get you to 36 weeks. I can remember just waiting for the complications to start and praying God would protect as He protected your sister. We made it past 36 weeks and then 37 weeks. We made it to 38 weeks and I knew we were going to be ok. Then another complication started. I awoke with a massive headache on friday night. I don't get headaches often, but this one put me into tears. I wondered if I needed to go somewhere to get my blood pressure taken. I made it through the night and felt most of the way better in the morning. All day saturday is somewhat a blur to me. We headed to your grandparents house and I remember not feeling well. I know your grandma and I headed to walmart to check my blood pressure. It was only 137/76. Not too bad. I went ahead and called into the doctor to let them know I was not feeling well. They advised me to take more tylenol and next time head to a fire station to get it taken or come in(apparently, walmart's blood pressure machines are not that accurate.) It was around 8p.m. and we were almost home. I started to not feel good again and so we headed to the fire station. This time it was 160/90. They advised me to head into the hospital.
I got so excited thinking we were going to meet you saturday or sunday. I was wrong. We got to the hospital and they did many tests. Then as I was laying there in bed, my blood pressure went down. We spent about two hours in the hospital and then was sent home. I was devastated and exhausted.
I spent all day sunday not feeling well but I knew I had a check up at 9a.m. on Monday. I figured if I could make it through this day then we would make sure everything was ok in the morning. Monday came and at the doctors office my blood pressure was now 136/98. The nurse immediately got the doctor who told me we were inducing today!!! Phone calls were made and we were getting ready to meet you. Labor wasn't too bad. I stalled out at 4cm dilated, you were not tolerating the labor as well as they hoped, and I was again not feeling well. They gave it a little more time and more medicine to get me to advance. I finally got to 7cm but then you gave the nurses a big scare. They were just about to prep me for surgery when I felt you were ready to make your appearance. I was right and out you came. They immediately put you on my tummy. It was awesome!!! Later as all the nurses and doctors were out of the room, I again did not feel well. I started to not be able to feel the sides of my tongue, I couldn't talk or see well. Your dad called the nurse in and she checked me. Apparently my blood pressure dropped too low but the nurse was able to bring it back up. Everything was great from there on out.

I can not wait to see your personality shine through. You have some great godly men in your life, please look to them and your Heavenly Father for guidance. Your father and I are so proud of you and love you so much.

This little man.....

is 6 months old today!!!!

He has a check-up today so I will post later his growth.

A lot of changes

I seem to be neglecting this blog lately. There have been a lot of changes around here lately. Some I can't share with you and some I can!!!

Carson is 5 months old (soon to be 6.) He has 2 teeth on the bottom and knows how to use them. He is sitting up, rolling over (prefers to roll from his back to his tummy instead of his tummy to his back.) He has a smile that will melt any one's heart. His is such a happy baby and very rarely fussy. He knows when it is 7p.m. and is ready to eat and go to bed. With going to bed so early, he does wake up about 5a.m. but will take an early nap too. He is a great sleeper and a great snuggler. I can't wait to see his weight and height. He is growing and changing so much.

Kaylee had a big change last night too. We have had some major struggles with her hair lately. I can give her a bath, put conditioner and hair detangler spray in and we will still have a melt down trying to get the massive tangles out of her hair. So with summer upon us, we did the drastic. Dad was a little hesitant but I think it turned out cute. She is not quite sure about it yet. Before it was cut she told my friend exactly how she wanted it, "cut to my shoulders." Now, she is just tired and crabby today so nothing is right.

Before:

During: She is watching the little mermaid while getting her hair cut.

After: Not the best picture but you get the idea. We are hoping to get family, Carson 6 month, and Kaylee 3 year old pictures this weekend so will get better pictures to post.

Other news on Kaylee, she is almost all the way potty trained. She will stay dry all day except p**p. We are still working on that one. We even ventured out the other day in big girl undies and she stayed dry the whole time. She is doing great, now we just have to work on the other part of it.
