A little different and an update on us!!

This Thanksgiving is going to be a little different. Usually we are meeting with up with one side of the family, eating turkey, watching football, playing games, watching all the kids play, spending the night at someone house, and just enjoying being together. This year....we are staying here in California at our new house. It is different, but it is also going to be good. Another tradition, atleast on my side, is shopping on black friday. I am still trying to talk Brian into this one here. If IKEA has black friday deals, he is in!!! If not, then I will shop alone:) I win either way!!

We have now been homeowners for a week. I am thoroughly enjoying our house. The kids have so much room to run around and they are having fun enjoying some of their toys that were boxed up for the past 6 months. I still have unpacking to do, some things I have to get some shelves for before I can finish, others, I just have not unpacked the box. I have less than two weeks before the kids and I take off for the midwest. We are coming back for about three weeks!!!

Update on how things are going around here:

Brian - he is loving his job. He still does more research right now but they are getting doctors on board that want their input in the new knee design. Once research is done and doctors are on board then I think the design stage will start. He is definitely loving Cali and the weather, and is a lot less stressed. His new boss is awesome too!! Gives them half days in random and is very in tune with the staff in general.

Kaylee - very active three year old. She is loving it here but not sure we are in Cali yet. She keeps referring to the apartment as the other California. I thought that with buying a house she might finally realize we are in California but maybe some day she will. She is taking gymnastics class once a week and loves it. We have been working on her letters and numbers and she has almost all of them down.

Carson - started to walk a few days ago. He loves to dance to music and be outside. If you put him in a swing, he is set for a long while. Saying a few words but not sure if it is really what he is saying or not (we are not sure). Already loves to bug his sister and get into her things, matter of fact he is into everything!!!

Me - I am enjoying it here. I miss our family being closer but have made lots of friends already. I get together with some other ladies and their kids weekly and enjoying making new friends. I attend a weekly Bible Study with some great ladies. I also enjoy the weather and getting the kids outside every day. I think we have been here 3 months and it has only rained about 5 days. Pretty much every other day we are outside for atleast some time.

1 Week from today!!!

Lord willing, one week from today, this will be our house!!!


I seriously can not wait to be home owners again. Not to mention I have so many decorating ideas I want to do thanks to pinterest!! Bonus, a hobby lobby just opened up not too far from us so I will be able to do some of the crafting projects I want to:)

By the way, painting will happen in the near future. I am not a fan of yellow houses:)
