Family Reunion

Last weekend, we headed up to Rockford for a family reunion. It has turned into a birthday party for Kaylee and one of her cousins since it is so close to their birthdays and the family is together.

Here, Kaylee got a pair of dress up shoes. I don't think she has taken them off since she got them. I have had to convince her that she can not wear them out of the house and she needs to wear real shoes when going out.

This is my grandmother (or GG as the great grandkids call her) with most of her great grandchildren on this side. There are a few missing.
Now we are out at My Aunt and Uncle's farm. Kaylee got a scooter for her birthday. Notice the concentration, and the lack of riding it correctly. It will come.
With all of the late nights, no naps, and just plain lack of sleep, this little girl was tuckered out. We camped out on the floor at my aunt's house. Kaylee had been up late the previous two nights, only 1/2 hour naps both days. So this morning, everyone else woke up at 6:30a.m. She continued to sleep even though everyone was wrestling, talking, or just plain being loud all around her. She slept another hour in the middle of all the noise after everyone else was up.
Horses are a big hit with all the kids. Most people get to ride on them, but I was not ready for Kaylee to do that yet. She did get to sit on one when daddy was on there. She liked it but was ready to get off. I don't blame her.

Of course with the heat as it was, a water gun was in order. I tried to find a water gun that Kaylee would be able to shoot. She loved it but did nt join in on the actual fight. She liked shooting herself, daddy, or me.

It was a great weekend, but very exhausting. This weekend is going to be no different.

Cutest Ever

Is this not the cutest picture you have ever seen?
Ok, maybe not, but how about this one?

The two older girls are my sisters girls and my sister did all their hair the same way for the family reunion. They were so cute and now I totally have to practice my french braiding so I can do that to Kaylee's hair in the future, she was so cute.

More to come on our family reunion weekend.

Circus

$35 for two tickets to the circus + $5 for secure parking + having your almost two year old, who is sitting on your lap, lean back and give you a kiss on the cheek and whisper "fun" during the show = PRICELESS!!!

Brian and I took Kaylee to the circus last night. Best part of the night was watching Kaylee's reaction with all the horses and the tricks the people do. It was a late night for her, but she loved every minute of it. She kept asking when the "neighs" were coming back out. I think her highlight was the horses also. Brian and I enjoyed the circus too. We didn't get any pictures though as it is dark in there and they do not want any flash photography taken. Oh well, we have the memories!!!

Kitchen Remodel Update!!!

Brian commented the other day that I have not done an update on the blog about the kitchen. I told him nothing has really changed since I last updated. He didn't like that answer that much:)

The kitchen remodel came to a halt because of life, helping other people with things, and just because we were burnt out on it. Last saturday, I took Kaylee out for the morning so Brian could start the grouting on the floor. It was a lot more work than we thought and he also realized that it would work better with two people. So this week, after putting Kaylee down for bed, we tackled the floor. We finished it last night and it looks so good!!!

We have to seal it next week and then put in the baseboards, but it is coming along so nicely!!!

I think next we are going ot work on some of the cosmetic stuff, baseboards, moulding, and other little things, before tackling the counter tops. I am loving how everything is turning out and can't wait for it to be finished. I think Brian can't wait either:)

Playdate - or as Kaylee calls it "plate"

I told Kaylee the other day that we were going to a playdate. She combined the words and said "plate." I didn't correct her that time as it was pretty cute.

We headed over to my friend Jackie's house for a playdate. These two are two months apart and we have had playdates before, but this was the first time that it was so much fun for them. They played so well together and it was fun for us moms too.

Logan did this spontaneously at first so I had to get the camera ready. Someday, when these two are married (to eachother) they can look back on this picture and laugh.

Kaylee has been getting into the dressup stuf lately. She loves hats and shoes.

Here is Kaylee holding Logan's baby brother, Tyson. I think she is going to be a great big sister!!!

Funny Things

Some funny things that Kaylee has been doing lately that I wanted to document:

My parents were over while Brian and I went out for an errand and dinner. While they were there, she grabbed her little piggy bank and brought it out to them with her bottom lip out and shaking the empty piggy bank. She was hitting it hard to get some money in there - of course the grandparents had to give in:)

While walking around the block with Brian and I, we were teaching Kaylee how to play red light, green light. When we would say red light, Brian would stop with one leg up. Kaylee kept saying "no" and would push his leg down. He did this a couple of times. Then finally on the third time, she said "no" and pushed his leg down and then put her leg up in the air. It was pretty cute.

Yesterday, while having a play date with Logan, I kept hearing her call for "boy." I would tell her his name is Logan and she would say "Logan", but then would look at him and say "come here, boy." Atleast she knows the difference between boy and girl.

Lately, we have been getting into the "mine" stage and "self"= I do it myself. Also, she has been saying "I need it" to just about anything. While this is not always funny, it is still at the cute stage. I don't think for long though:)

She loves to sing the song, Twinkle, twinkle, little star and Jesus Loves Me. It couldn't be cuter watcher her do the motions for Twinkle.

We have told Kaylee that I am pregnant. So every once in a while I will ask her "where is mommy's baby?" She will point to my stomach. Then she proceeds to point to my b**bs and then to herself and then to daddy. At this point, she is laughing histerically, and so are we.

Lately, if I have Kaylee with me at a store, she talks to EVERY customer that will listen, (or not). She has to chow off her shoes and her cute smile.

I know there are others that I will have to document or get on video. She is such a chatter box and We love her so much!!!

Car Wash

Somehow the can got incredibly dirty over the past week. I thought it would be fun for Kaylee and I to wash it. I must admit, I don't remember how much work it is to wash a vehicle and even harder now to wash a van.

We didn't have all of the tools needed, like the right kind of wash, but we improvised.
Kaylee helping me fill up the bucket:

Washing the van:

Spraying the van down:
She decided that playing in the bucket of water was more fun and that her taking a bath instead of the van was what was needed more.

Update since I have not blogged in a while

I need to get back to blogging again. We have been pretty busy around here. Here are a few things we have been up to:

Memorial Day weekend: We had a great weekend together. Brian worked on kitchen stuff saturday. Finished putting in the last tiles on the floor, now he just has to grout it:) Sunday, we Church and then we headed to a park that they fly remote control airplanes. Kaylee loves it. That evening, we had friend over and made pizzas on the fire pit. Of course it was 90 degrees during the day but that evening it was pretty nice. It was a lot of fun. Monday, we took Kaylee on a hike. We went to Castlewood park. We did the three mile hike and then some. I think she walked about 1 mile of it, which I think is pretty good for her little legs. She loves picking up rocks and sticks so this as great for her.

Last weekend I held a garage sale. I ended up having a lot more stuff to sell than what I thought I did. It was a lot of work and the week leadig up to it, I was not feeling so well so that did not help. The day went pretty well, but not as well as I would have hoped. Our neighborhood was having a sale but most of the houses were on the other side so I didn't get as much traffic as I would have hoped. I am now trying to sell some things on craigslist to get things out of the garage.

Speaking of the garage. Brian and I had to clean it out in order to fit two vehicles in there again. We have survived almost one whole year with only one car. It has been tough but good also. We recently decided that it was time to get a van:) I have looked on webistes before but have not found any deal that I felt we wanted to take part in. This past weekend, I found one. I will have to take pictures of it. It is beautiful. 2003 Honda Odyysey with only one previous owner. The deal was a bit of a headache, but it is done now and in my possession. I keep opening up the garage door to take a look at our new purchase:)

Kaylee has been taking some interest in going to the bathroom on the big girl potty so I bought her some big girl underwear. I was going to put her in them yesterday but then noticed that she had some diahrrea. I decided I did not want to be cleaning that up all day so we will wait a few more days. She is acting more like herself today to that is good.

I think that is what we have been up to the past week or so. We are just waiting on the word that Brian's brother and his wife had their baby so we can go see the precious little girl. This will be Kaylee's first cousin on Brian's side. We can't wait:)
