Something I never thought I would say.

As you become a parent, you find yourself saying things you never thought you would say.

I have posted about this incident here before. Well it keeps happening and everytime I have to say: "Kaylee, get out of the dishwasher" it just cracks me up:)

Weekend with Brian's Family

Brian's parents, brother and sister-in-law came into town this weekend. It was a lot of fun but exhausting!!!
We went to the zoo on saturday. Brian got amazing pictures of the lions.

I still can't get over how big she looks now that she is walking.

We watched the sea lion show for the first time. I have to brag a little, after all it is my blog:) It is amazing at how attentive Kaylee is. The show was about 45 mintes long and she didn't move an inch during the whole show. Is this normal? I mean for a 14 month old? I just hope this stays for when she gets into school.

We almost got caught in a bad storm while in the River's Edge, but luckily we made it out in time. Good thing we had Brian with us to point out every time it thundered:) Seriously, honey, you will have to break this habit before Kaylee becomes scared of storms.
Sunday was Church and then home for lunch, nap, and wagon rides!!

We also ate fresh raspberries from our garden. yummy!!!

Kaylee also has a new obsession with the leaves. I guess she gets it from momy who loves to stomp on the leaves to make them "crunch." Kaylee loves to do that and also to collect them.

Whats one more? Or maybe two.

My mom made a note that most of the walking videos was from behind, so I got her as she was coming at me. Not only is she walking, but now she is running and carrying things!! Brian and I are having so much fun with this new found talent.

Earlier today, I took her to walmart to look at some toys while we waited for daddy to get off work. She walked across the isle straight for the toys!!!

Concert

Last night Brian, Kaylee and I went down to Art Hill to hear a classical music concert. It was fun just to sit on blankets and hear the music. Kaylee did awesome.
By the way, what is it about a mom that prepares for everything, for everyone else, but forgets about herself? We picked Brian up at work so I made sure to grab him long sleeves and had pants and long sleeves for Kaylee. Meanwhile, I went in capri pants and did manage to grab long sleeves but didn't even think about long pants for me. It got pretty cool last night, but it turned out ok.
After the concert, they shot off fireworks. Kaylee LOVES fireworks. She was sitting in between Brian's legs playing when they started. Immediately, she dropped what was in her hands and leaned back on Brian and just stared into the sky watching the fireworks. I am not even sure if she blinked the whole time. I think I may have been watching her more the fireworks myself. It was just so cute!!

Tonight, we are going to the Balloon Glow festival. I think it is going to be about the same thing. Hot air balloons lit up in the sky is going to look a lot like fireworks!!! It should be a lot of fun.

Sunday, I was hoping to get a babysitter for Kaylee and take Brian to the Blue Planet Live at the symphony hall but realized the tickets are a little out of our reach. Can't find any deals on them, but oh well. Maybe another year.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

The Biggest Loser

Last night was the season premier of The Biggest Loser, Season 8!!! I can't believe it has been on for 8 years? Think of all the lives that have been changed in the past 8 years.

This is about the only show that Brian and I watch. I am not thrilled with how much swearing Jillian did on it last night though. I think she can motivate everyone without the swearing.

Each year, as I watch the show, I think, I should work out while watching the show!!! Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I have not gotten the clearance from my doctor to work out again yet so I just watched last night.

I only caught the last hour of the show. When they were weighing in and Jillian made a comment about what Abby has been through, I had to find out what it was about. I am praying for Abby. She lost her husband, 5 1/2 year old daughter, and 2 1/2 week old son in a fatal car accident almost three years ago. In fact, if she stays on the show, she will be there over the anniversary. I can not even begin to imagine what she has gone through, but will only offer up my prayers.

About 10 years ago, I started on this journey of losing weight. I got about 70 pounds off and then have stayed the same over the years. I would love to lose about 20 more and then stay at that. I just wish I had someone screaming in my ear to not eat so much and work out:)

Do you watch the Biggest Loser? Do you get inspired like I do to work out after or during watching the show? We will see if I can lose the weight I want to while this season is on!!!

Couldn't help myself -just so proud!!

She is getting so much better at walking on her own, and is starting to walk inbetween things more instead of sitting down and crawling. She is pretty steady on her feet, which amazes me. I think we are going to take away the little walkers she has for a few weeks to encourage her to keep walking on her own instead of using the walker.

Surgery and Recovery

I am typing left handed as I had surgery on my right shoulder this morning. Not that you can tell while reading this:)

When Brian and were driving to the surgery center at 5:15a.m., I started to get a little nervous as there was a bank in the same building. I couldn't imagine that it was going to go very well if it was not a big center. Overall, it went pretty smooth though. Before the surgery, they did a nerve block to help with the pain. That is ANNOYING. I know I have a right arm, but I can't feel it at all. All the way to the tips of the fingers. The only good thing is, Kaylee wanted to climb all over me and I couldn't feel a thing.

The report from the doctor was that, a long time ago I injured my shoulder. Aparently I tore my labrum and rotator cuff but not enough to really bother me. I have a high pain threshold so if it is not enough to stop me, I don't go to the doctor. I guess, it had been enough time that the labrum and rotator cuff tried to repair themselves and formed a flap. That flap is what is causing te problem with range of motion and pain.

So, basically during the surgery, he did not have to repair the tears to much, but did more of a clean up. That means, shorter recovery time - possibly 2 weeks compared to 6 weeks in a sling.

I start physical therapy tomorrow, hopefully I will be able to feel my arm!!!

Kaylee walking!!

Here are the much anticipated videos of Kaylee walking.

Watch for her clapping at the end of this one.

Labor Day Activities!!

We had a great Labor Day full of activities. We slept in a little and then made french toast with syrup, peaches, and a little powdered sugar.

After a VERY short nap, not what I had planned but I guess Kaylee was just so excited, we went to a park near 141 and interstate 44. They fly remote controlled airplanes and Kaylee loved to watch them.

Then we went Kayaking!!! Kaylee did great this time. She sat up and wanted to feel the water the whole time. I was a little grossed out because is was pretty dirty water, but we just washed up really good.

We are now wiped out and relaxing at home. It was a great day.

These boots are made for walking.....

Ok, so only shoes, but they are still made for walking. I have to catch a video of it but Kaylee took her first steps yesterday. She did it about 3-4 times, taking about 3-4 steps at a time!!! She has done it a couple of times today but we are out and about so can't get a video of it right now. We are SUPER excited.

She looks pretty steady on her feet also. She has been walking holding onto one hand for quite a while so all she needed to do is get her confidence up to do it on her own.

I can't wait to get her going even more!!!

Legos

Another sign that Kaylee is growing up. We played with legos the other day. Of course, it goes something like this: I build something, mostly a tower, and then she knocks it down and tears it apart:) It is still fun!!

I have always had a problem with building things out of legos though. I am not that creative when it comes to legos and knowing what to build. Brian can sit down and make an airplane, car, or a huge building. Of course, Kaylee just destroys those too:)

A little jealous?

What do you think? Is Kaylee getting a little jealous that I am going to be watching a little girl in my home in a little while?

Love This Weather

Is anyone else loving this weather? I absolutely LOVE this weather and everything that comes with it. I can wear either jeans and a T-shirt, or shorts and a sweatshirt. Windows are open and the sun is out. It does not get much better than this.

Not much going on here this week. I went shopping for Kaylee yesterday. She is growing like a weed. With her starting to walk more, still assisted:(, I did purchase a few pairs of shoes for her. They are too cute.

Next week is our busy week. I am having arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder. Not much fun, but will be glad when it is over.
