Spaghetti

Kaylee had her first try at spaghetti last night. I think she may have gotten one piece in her mouth!!! She enjoyed the new flavor and texture so I think we will try her on some different things that she can gum.

She likes it.....

She doesn't like it.....

She is thinking about it....

Ok, she likes it again:)

Blown Glass

Last friday night, Brian had an idea to go back to the Third Degree Glass Factory. It is a place that you can watch them make blown glass and even purchase a few items that some of the people make. it came at a perfect time when we are repainting our kitchen and decorating it differently. They are pretty reasonable - well some of them - but it is just a lot of fun. We knew Kaylee loved lights and sounds so thought she would really enjoy it. She did!!! She paid attention to the whole demonstration and it was even way past her bedtime.

On the third friday of the month they have an open house. You can come and even pay to make something of your own. I think it is a paper weight and something else. We haven't done that yet but may when Kaylee gets older.

The bowl that is behind us is what I wanted but it is one that is WAY out of our price range.

Here is one of the demonstrators making a pig.

Here is Kaylee up way past her bedtime.

First Easter Egg hunt

St. Louis Mills mall did a free Easter Egg hunt. It was pretty cute. The kids were in search of a golden easter egg that you would get a prize when you turned it in. I was just going to watch with Kaylee but then decided she could get a prize and a little stuffed bunny.
Anticipation of the event:
She just can't wait, she is too excited!!
Excitment is now gone and confusion has set in, what do I do with this thing? I am trying to hold her and get a picture, so it did not turn out as well. She has no clue what all of these things on the ground are. Look, we found a golden egg!! It was a lot of fun even though she was a little too little for it.
This is Addison and Bailey that we met there. They are both almost two years old and so they show Kaylee the ropes. It was a miracle we got all three of them even sitting down at one time!! Good luck getting them all looking at the same camera.
All done with the easter egg hunt and here she is with her prize!!!
Is it just me or do you see a little hint of greed in this picture with this smile. I can swear I am hearing her say, "just try and take this egg away from me!!!"
All in all she had fun and that is all that matters. We did some shopping afterwards at the mall. Kaylee needed some everyday summer shirts and also she will need some 18 month winter clothes. I was hoping things were still on clearance.

Lunch Date with Daddy

Kaylee and I kidnapped daddy and took him to a park for lunch today. It was beautiful outside and we just couldn't resist some "daddy time." We all ate lunch on our picnic blanket and it was going great until Kaylee sneezed while I was putting a bite of green beans in her mouth. It got everywhere. Luckily more on me than Brian since he had to go back to work. She also ate her first bite of a strawberry and couldn't get enough.

Here are a couple of cute pictures. I just love her in this sun hat.
This girl can not get enough water!!

Play time!!

Daddy kisses are the best!!

Also, Kaylee started to say "Daddy" over the weekend. She won't say it on command or totally when looking at Brian but she loves to say it. Then today she started making the "mmmmm" sound. We are getting close!!!! I will get a video of it as soon as I can get her to do it on command.

8 Teeth in 8 Months

Notice the drool coming off her chin also.

SHHHHHH... Don't tell Kaylee

I got Kaylee's 1 year present already. I know, it is still 4 months away, but they get picked over so fast that I had to get it early. Brian and I wanted to get Kaylee used to the water early, but we did not just want to get a small pool yet. So I found this at a good deal and I think it is going to be so much fun. Brian thinks I may just have more fun with it than Kaylee, but I don't think so. Now it just needs to warm up enough to use it. Yes, she will get her present early and then we will just have her open the box on her birthday. She will never know the difference - she can't read yet!!!

8 Month Check-Up

Kaylee had her 8 month appointment today. The doctor was pleased with everything. He was impressed at how healthy she is and that she has not been in the whole winter with being sick (thanks Dr. Smith - chiropractor!!!). He was also pleased at her trying to stand and eat cheerios and drinking from her sippy cup. He said that everything is great and we don't go back until she is 1 Years Old!!!!

So here is the stats:
Weighing in at an impressive 20 pounds 9 ounces and 28 inches tall is........

By the way she is 90% for weight and 75% for height. She has only gained a little over a pound in the past 2 months.

Trying to stand

Brian has been working with Kaylee all weekend to learn how to lift herself up to stand. She can do it if she is sitting on his legs but not from the floor. She is very determined though. I have a feeling it will be soon.

Peekaboo!!

Is this not the cutest thing in the world?

My favorite place!!

Kaylee and I went to the Zoo with some friends on friday. I could not have asked for a better day. The weather was beautiful and the animals were out to play! Kaylee LOVES to ride in the stroller. She just kicked her feet and looked at the animals the whole morning. It got warmer than I anticipated and we did not have sun screen with us so we had to be careful. We stayed there until about 1p.m. As soon as we got in the car, she was out. She slept for about 2 1/2 hours that afternoon. A little fresh air does the body good. I know I was wiped out also.

Just some random things

Kaylee and I spent the day outside the other day. It was great to just sit outside and I am hoping to do it again this week as the weather gets warmer. Kaylee had fun on her little horse I got for her at a garage sale last summer.

Do you think it is time to clean out the pantry? When you ask your husband to get you some garlic powder, does your husband have to get a head lamp on in order to find it? I guess I will add the pantry to my spring cleaning list:(

Bath Time Fun!!

Brian decided to get some pictures of Kaylee "playing" in the bath tub. I think she is telling us it is time to move her to the big bath tub. The counter, floor, and the front of me, was soaked!!! She loves the water and I can't wait to get in her a pool this summer.
