Sorry kids, but your mom is a spoiler when it comes to Halloween. We will not be doing much for Halloween this year, and if I get my way, for years to come. I will just come out and admit it, I hate this holiday!!! I don't remember liking it much as a kid either but I am sure my mom would tell my different (who wouldn't want all the candy?)
The reason I really hate this holiday is not because of the candy. It is more for the evil aspect that it has come to dwell around. I know people have blogged about the real reason for Halloween, and that it can be innocent, but for me it still has so much negative and evil built into it that I just despise this holiday.
We have participated in Harvest Fairs at our Church and right now, that suffices you both. I am not sure if it will continue, but I will take it for as long as I can. Your gymnastics class is having a day to dress up next week. Luckily, I can just throw a tutu on you with a leotard and you will love it:)
I am not sure what we will do in years to come, maybe I will change my perspective on the holiday. For now, I am dodging another year and waiting patiently to get on the other side and into November!!
Edited: I found the post that a friend posted about the true meaning of Halloween. I may have to go over it with Brian and decide where we stand for next year. This year, I am just good not having all the candy in the house and since Kaylee is only 3, I can still get away with it:)

Carson
I have neglected this little boy on this blog in terms of growth updates. I missed his 8, 9, and 10 month updates:( So, in order to catch up on things so I am ready to put them into his one year book, here are a few stats.
8 Months:
biggest accomplishment is crawling!!! Standing holding onto objects but not pulling yourself up to it yet and you have no idea how to get back down:)
Still 6 teeth which you have had for a few months now.
Forgot to mention that he is saying "daddy" and "mommy" a lot now.
9 Months:
Weight at doctor was 20.4 pounds. Now pulling yourslef up and walking along furniture
You are now all over the place and love to play with everything your sister is playing with (she doesn't like it that much)
If a door to the outside world is open, you find it and make a mad dash (crawling) for it. You love to be outside.
He also waves, it is pretty cute. It is with his whole arm instead of just with his hand.
10 Months:
Getting more teeth in.
Trying to stand on your own without holding onto anything. You are the funniest little boy I know. You are getting so vocal - too loud for your daddy - but I think it is cute. You will hold a conversation with yourself, which just cracks me up. You take everything in and love to be independent on things, but you are still my little cuddler, especially before and after naps.
I will try harder to stay up to date!!! I need to keep track of these things to put in his book that I will be working on while I am visiting the midwest over Christmas!!! Can't wait to see everyone there again.

The Best Part
I have been asked a lot lately, "what is your favorite or best part about being in Folsom, California?"
We are definitely enjoying it out here. I think my answer to almost all of the people is the weather!! In the 8 weeks we have been here, it has rained two days. All the other days it has been sunny and sunny!!! The other reason we love it here is that there are a gazillion bike trails and places to put our kayaks in. Folsom is about 10 minutes from Brian's work and we have heard it has the best schools, SCORE!!! So, right now we have an offer on a house in Folsom!!!
We are praying for God's will if this is the house for us. If it is not, then we will keep looking. Join us in praying for God's will. I would love to get settled here and get out of a third story, two bedroom apartment. I have found so many things on pinterest that I want to try out and decorate my new house with!!!
Maybe we will be moved into our new house before Thanksgiving!!!

Move to the West - Part 4
We are now in Lake Tahoe (saturday-monday) We have about an hour and half to go but we were about 5 days earlier than our stuff arriving. So the only thing to do would be explore Lake Tahoe!! This is another place that is fun to explore. There are beaches, hikes, nice restaurants, sun, sun, and more sun!!!
Oh and dirt:) as you can see, Kaylee found the dirt.
My companion again on a hike.
Beautiful!!
Kaylee wanting to touch the water.
Kaylee got a skinned knee, but was still all smiles.

Move to the West - Part 3
After a day of hiking in RMNP we spent the night in Steam Boat Springs. The next morning we had about 5-6 hours of driving to get over to the east side of Salt Lake City, Utah. It was recommended for us to drive 40 instead of 80 to get there. Sorry, but that was not a great recommendation. It is a slower road and has NOTHING to see. Not sure if 80 would have been better though. Towards the end of the trip we stopped for lunch in Heber city. We let Kaylee play on the playground for a little while and then we stopped in a ranger station (if that doesn't tell you how much of a hick town we were in:). They suggested we head a little different way to get to our hotel as it would be a more scenic route. We took them up on the suggestion and loved it. We actually saw something:) Anyways, we got to our hotel and all was well.
The next day (friday) we decided to take a little time off from driving again and head to the zoo!!
Here is our day, picture style:)

After our day at the zoo, we did not have our next hotel booked, so we decided to go a couple of hours and then stop for the night. After 2 hours, the kids were doing great and we were feeling fine driving. We looked up what towns we were going to hit in another two hours and saw that there was enough that we could find a hotel at. So on we went!!! We ended up driving four hours till we stopped (so much for taking the day off), but in the end it meany less driving the next day and our destination next was Lake Tahoe!!!
