Fall Fun

Kaylee and I took advantage of the nice fall day. I have been seeing everyone else get pictures with their kids in leaves so I took Kaylee to the park and posed her for a few pictures. It was coming up on nap time so I had to work quick.

I think these leaves are going to taste good!!!

Ahhhh, bed of leaves, I could just fall asleep here.

I will also post her pictures in her halloween costume tomorrow.

Work out

So I know many of you who have had children know the dreadful days of working out after the pregnancy. I think I may have blogged about the DVD that I am using, post natal bootcamp, but have you ever heard of a guy doing it? Well now you have.

I have been getting on my husband about getting lazy and not working out. So now on monday and wednesdays we are getting up and working out before he goes to work. I decided I would keep doing the twelve week program that is on the DVD, and that he would just do pushups and situps or something. Oh no, he joined me in the postnatal workout. Funny thing is he is getting a pretty good workout!!! He comments on how sore he is. I have to admit it is really weird when Lindsay makes comments on the DVD about post pregnancy things and my husband is doing the exercises also.

I told him he needs to work on his kegel exercises also:) I guess we will see who gets rid of the post pregnancy belly first:)
I will have to get a picture of Brian and post it for you.

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

Perfect Timing

So why is it that as soon as the washing machine is done with a load of Kaylee's clothes, she no sooner has the biggest explosive diaper known to man? I mean it is everywhere.

As you could probably tell, this just happened. I just finished washing her clothes and sheets and was about to put them into the dryer when I hear her. She is a very loud pooper. I pick her up trying to be careful and trying to beat it running out of the diaper. As soon as I get her upstairs, I check her back and there it is!! It is everywhere. I now have to be careful to not get her too messy, as if she is not already. I pretty much have to take her straight to the tub as there is no hope of getting her clean any other way. Luckily, I still had to wash Brian and I's clothes so I just threw it in with ours but I think she knows when I am doing laundry as this seems to happen every time.

You have to admit the girls got timing!!!

Tummy time!!!

Just a couple of pictures with Kaylee working on some tummy time. She did roll over from tummy to back one time but I did not have the camera ready so I will have to catch the next one and post it for the grandparents.

Notice the tongue sticking out!!! She could not have done this if her tongue was still "tied."

Interesting evening?

Well Brian and I just had a visit from a police officer. No, we did nothing wrong, don't worry parents. Here is the story.

Have you ever gotten a prank phone call and just gotten an uneasy feeling from it? Well I got three today. I guess you could say I got fed up with it so I first called the phone company to see if they could get the phone number as it was not listed in caller ID, but they said that only the police could get it. So I called the police and asked what my options were. I thought it was stupid but went ahead and did it for my piece of mind. A very nice police man came and visited us and told us basically there is nothing they can do unless he threatens me. I mentioned that he swore at me and to me that is a threat:) He said a threat on my life. Oh. So now I have to wait for another phone call and record it for them and then give it to them. I am hopeing this guy does not call anymore and just stops this. In the meantime they are "beefing up security" around our house for the next few days.

I know it is just some stupid kid calling random numbers but it kind of made me feel uneasy. I think we all did this when we were kids and for that I am sorry.

So, if the caller is reading this you can apologize right now and stop what you are doing:)

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Superman!!!!

I know as a kid you all remember your dad lifting you up in the air as superman, but what about your husband doing it? We didn't get a great picture of it, but Brian did get me up in the air.

Then his brother, Uncle Kevin, gave it a try to give Brian a lift.

Here is a video of Brian swimming while in the air.

This was all done at Brian's brothers new house. We went to Indiana this weekend to see Kevin and Laura's new house. The grandparents met us there also. Here are the grandparents with Kaylee. I am going to print this out and show it to her so she will know them more since she doesn't see them as often.

All in all it was a great weekend. We tried to find a pumpkin patch to go to so the grandparents would be with Kaylee at her first pumpkin patch but we couldn't find any and ran out of time. I think Brian and I will take her this weekend to one.

Paranoia

Well it turns out Kaylee does not have an ear infection, in fact, she is very healthy. All she has is a paranoid mother.

After calling Nicole, thanks Nicole!, I ended up calling the doctor to see if they could fit her in. Kaylee had not been eating normal, she was wanting to eat all the time, and being more on the fussy side, I thought maybe see if she had an ear infection or something.

Well just to give you an update. She now weighs 15.4 pounds and is very healthy. He told me I was being safe, as her eating that much could mean that she was sick but it turns out she is not. He said we can either chalk it up to a phase or teething. They agreed, Nicole, you pretty much blame everything on teething!!

Well off we go for a weekend at Uncle Kevin and Aunt Laura's house!!! We are both very excited.

Romancing

My Bible Study group is readingthe book Captivating. Chapter seven talks about God romancing us and that He wants to do this. I have to admit this is totally new to me. The writer talked about how she asked God to romance her and to show her that He loved her. He had recently shown her husband by the way of sending a huge whale for him to see. So she really wanted a whale. They were on vacation so she took some quite time and went to the beach. She prayed God would send her a whale. Well He didn't. She was a little bumbed. As she was walking further she saw a beautiful star fish. She knew it was from God and this was His way of telling her how much He loved her. Then as she turned the corner she saw hundreds of star fish all in different colors. She knew it was God letting her know how much He loved her since that is what she was praying for.

So, Brian and I got on a conversation about romance last night. This was after I told him he does not listen to me very well. I know he hears what I say but he nevers says anything in return or discusses anything I would like to discuss. Well that is a different post, maybe. So anyways, I told him I needed to be romanced not only by him but by God. I asked if that was wrong for me to ask that of Him. In the book it also talks about the song "Jesus loves me" and that we need to take that to the next level now that we are growing up. As kids we learn that Jesus loves us and that we are to love him. But I think we learn that it is something we are supposed to do, not something we desire to do or that God desires to do for us. But now we are to learn that it is not just a DUTY that we love God or that He loves us, it is because He wants to and we should want to also.

Well, I am going to pray that God would romance me and also that he would romance you. I don't think it is wrong and I look forward to hearing how God has romanced you lately, if you want to share. It could be something small or as big as a whale, but we will know it is from God.

Question for you

Does anyone have a really good digital thermometer they use for their kids? Or are digital thermometers not good anyways?

I have tried two different ones and do nto seem to get a consistent one to work. Either it will not beep to say it has read the temperature or I will do the temperature a few time and I will get a new temp every single time.

Just wondering.

Also, what are warranties for anyways? If the company is not going to help you even if it is in a warranty period then why have a warranty? Just a thought. Can you tell I am fed up with a company right now. Brian and I have a squeeky mattress and we have only had a few months. The company is supposed to replace it but they are giving me the run around. I am tired of making phone calls and talking to different people everyday. I think I have it figured out but it really shouldnot be this hard.

3 Months Old

Kaylee is 3 months old today!!! I really can't decide if the time has flown by or if it seems like it has been longer. At times I feel like these past three months have really flown by, but then at other times, I feel like she should be older than just three months.

I fall in love more and more with Kaylee every day. Even when I am struggling at times or not sure of what I am doing at times, I still love her with all my heart.

Good Points:

Kaylee is now sleeping through the night. This is a new thing just this week. She did it for 2 nights in a row, but had a little rough night the other night because she did not want to go to bed, but once she finally went to sleep, she still slept through the night. Last night she did great again. A little too early in the morning but still slept 8 hours. I will just have to push that morning time a little bit longer.

My heart melts every time she smiles at me.

She is now getting more on a schedule. Makes things a little easier throughout the day even though it is a crazy schedule.

Things are becomig more fun since she is starting to have more awake time and interaction time in the day. It is only for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours at a time, which is fine, but it is still fun.

Not so good points:

Kaylee still has a fussy time in the evening. I know this will pass, but it is hard on Brian when she gets so fussy while he is home in the evening. Makes it not as much fun for him right now.

She wants to nurse constantly in the evening. I know she is stocking up for the night, but come on, how much milk can I have? Sorry for that if you are a guy, you probably did not want to read that.

Well Kaylee, you are 3 months old now and I do not want you to grow any older for a while. I hear this time goes by too fast and I need to treasure it. I hope this blog will treasure a few of those moments and that I will not let you grow up too quickly. I love you dearly and am really excited to see the beautiful little girl you are going to become. I already see your personality shining through in those beautiful smiles and those big blue eyes. I love you so much Kaylee.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

This thank you is to John Matlock. John emailed me yesterday and told me that somehow,I don't know how, he had all of my blogs from my previous blog that I accidentally deleted when I thought I was deleting something else. So now I have all of my old posts from my previous blog. I am very grateful and just wanted to say thank you again.

great deals!!

If you do not know about craigs list, you may want to familarize yourself with it. It is a great place, like ebay and amazon, to get things. Craigslist is local though and so you do not have to pay shipping. You just look things up in your area and then go to pick it up. Here is something I picked up today for Kaylee.
What are you putting me in mommy?
OK, this looks like fun!!

Sleep litte baby

Kaylee went 11 1/2 hours inbetween feeds last night. The only down fall to that was that her last feed was at 5p.m. She then fell asleep at 7p.m. and slept until 4:30a.m. So now here we are at 5:30a.m. still awake.

Oh well, I will have to try and adjust that last feed so we are not up so early, but I am excited if this is becoming a pattern. Too early to tell yet.

So what does one do at 5a.m? Do I dare turn on the TV and what infomercials or play on the computer while playing with Kaylee.

Right now I have the hiccups, which Kaylee is finding pretty funny as she is bouncing on my belly.

Note to self: Go to baby mania sale without kids!!! It was a lot of fun buthard with Kaylee. The guys were doing things so we thought we would take the kids but in the spring Ithink we will go by ourselves.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!!

Well Kaylee slept most of the time after having her tongue snipped. It was a little tramatic but Erin and I had fun.
She did wake up in the afternoon after she ate again. She REALLY woke up when we went into the penguins. It was cold and smelly.

The highlight of the trip were the baby tigers. They were so cute and active. We stopped by to see them twice. It was beautiful weather and so much fun. I can't wait until next year when she will enjoy it, hopefully as much as mom.

Here is my friend Erin with Kaylee. Not sure what Kaylee saw but she is very interested in it.

tongue tied?

Well Kaylee had a doctors appointment today at an ENT office. We were there for the "T" part. Kaylee was born with what they call "tongue tied". It is not serious at all. It is hard to explain unless I am pointing at my tongue. basically she wouldhave had problems with eating an ice cream coneand french kissing. Now, I have no problems with her having trouble french kissing, but the wating of an ice cream cone I do:)

Well, anyways, we got it snipped. I went to this doctor for a second opinion and she just got the stuff out and was ready to do it. Since she was still little it was nto much of a big deal. More tramatic for me. If I had waited until she was bigger, we would have had to send her into the operating room. I was not up for that.

Well, Kaylee did great. I think it wore her out though, she has slept most of the day. I even took her to the zoo today (pictures to come tomorrow) but she slept through most of it. I will tell you more about it tomorrow.

Busy week

So after the poll I am not sure I am any better off. I may be too scared to make a change. Brian said that he would like to see me with darker color hair. Now that is really a change. Maybe I will go all out. I guess everyone will have to wait and see, including me. I am not sure when I will do it. We have a busy few days, I will post pictures when it happens.

Kaylee has her doctors appointment with the ENT tomorrow and then we were invited to go to the zoo afterwards with one of my friends. There are baby tigers, and I am so excited. I have been wanting to take her but with her still sleeping so much I figured maybe I should wait. Well she is having more awake time now and well, who needs an excuse to go to the zoo. It is only my favorite place to go.

I am also very excited that it is time for the Mehlville baby mania sale. I have never been but have heard lots of good things from lots of people. I am super excited to go, because Kaylee has very few toys to play with right now and she is starting to get to the age where she wants to grab at things. I am very excited!! I am going to get her exersaucer out soon also. I will have to get some pictures of her in it. She is still pretty young for it, butI think she will enjoy it. Plus it will give me five minutes to get a few things done in the house while she is entertained.
