The Reveal

Friday afternoon, Brian and I went in for my (1 day shy of 18 weeks) ultrasound!! The baby looks great and is growing so healthy!!

We can't wait to meet HIM!!!!

That is right, we are having a BOY!!!

I am still in shock as I was sure it was a girl for some reason, but we are so elated.

We had 8 other couples over to our house last night for a barbecue. On the bottom of a few of the plates we wrote the word "BOY." While everyone was eating, they were wondering when the revealing would be so I told them to check the bottom of their plates. It was a lot of fun!!!

We can't wait to meet this little guy due on Christmas day.

She doesn't care, all she wants is a baby:) Us too, healthy baby!!!

I will post what the result is after saturday night. We are having a barbecue at our house for a bunch of couples and doing a surprise reveal then. So it will be posted on here probably on sunday, sorry you have to wait:)

What do you do when the power is out?

We break out the slide and the pool!!!

Our power went out for about 4 hours yesterday. Not sure why, but nonetheless it was getting hotter in the house, so we thought cool off in the pool!!!

Kaylee's Birthday Activities

I forgot to post about what we did on Kaylee's birthday. Since we had spent the previous two weekends with family, we decided to spend the actual day just the three of us.

We first headed to Purina Farms. Kaylee had so much fun watching the dogs do tricks, petting some of the animals and playing in the tunnels.

Then we did one of the things that Kaylee begs us to do everyday, going on a hike.

She also got to climb a tree!!

We had a great day celebrating her turning 2 years old!!

2 Year Old Photoshoot

Brian and I took Kaylee to Forest Park for a few pictures. I love how they turned out even though she is avoiding the camera these days. Some of the pictures she is smiling at the camera becuase we are playing "itsy, bitsy spider" or "twinkle, twinkle, little star." Then she would look and smile.

She loved playing in the water.

Typical Kaylee!!!

Here is my specialty. I love how this years collage turned out and can't wait to print them out.
I am in the midst of switching doctors so her 2 year appointment is on hold right now as the records get transfered. Who knew it would take a month to get this done? Oh well, she is healthy. I will update as soon as I get her stats.

2 Years Old!!

Kaylee,

Where has the time gone? I can not believe you are now 2 years old. You are such a great 2 year old too!!! You love to learn new things, discover what is around you, climb everything, and are starting to ask what everything is: "is it?" is your new favorite words to speak. You are learning your colors, but also play games with us and say the wrong color when you know what is right. You love to be outdoors and I usually have to drag you inside in order to eat lunch and have a nap. You are running more and more and have the scars on the knees to show for your adventures. You love to share(mostly your snacks), but also are learning all about sharing toys too.

We are working on the temper lately as you seem to be pushing the limits on a few things. I know this is typical 2 year old behavior but still something to work on. You have such a loving heart it is hard to see you when you get in these moods. Usually, you are very easy to change though, mainly by tickling you or asking you to smile. You can never hold back a smile for me.

My favorite thing to do with you right now is I will say "pssst" to you and you will immediately reply "love you." I love it and probably do it too many times, but I can't get enough of it.

You melt your daddy's heart everytime you run up to him when he gets home from work. I know you have just made his day. You love wrestling with him and let him fly you high. Some days, you are even more of a daddy's girl than a mommy's girl. I don't mind though, you have a great daddy and a heart big enough for both of us.

You are such a joy to be around and I love to teach you new things. You soak it all in and can't wait to learn more!!

We tried to get a few pictures of you the other day, but unfortuately, it was 100 degrees outside and so sweat was not our friend that day. Here are a few of the pictures we got but we are taking more soon.

I love you so much and am looking forward to many more years with you. Don't ever outgrow the kisses and hugs you love to give, please:)

Painting

I really feel bad that I have not painted with Kaylee before this. She loved it. I am trying to do an activity with her each day to challenge her more. We have recently had library time, swimming, new parks, and lots of learning activities at home to learn our colors. She is getting so close to knowing most of her colors but sometimes she messes up just to get a laugh out of us.

A while back, when grandma and grandpa were here, they did a tracing of her on a poster board. I knew I would use it again some day, but had not done anything with it yet. This was the perfect activity for her.

The finished product, also resulting in a second bath for the day:) You can see the blonde hair on the bottom and then picture her from there on the paper. It was pretty cute.

Backyard Playdate

Kaylee had a pool playdate this morning. The other girls were mostly 3 year olds, but she had a lot of fun. As we were driving away, she kept asking me to turn around and go back.

Do you see these knees? She has fallen almost every day for the past week and keeps opening up the same scars.
