Community

It is nice when a disaster hits that communities come together.

Our plans for the weekend changed from my previous post. Went to Church for service on Good Friday and came home (after tornado sirens were all done) to this. Newspaper says it was an F4 in our area. Of course these were taken the next day. We were very blessed and have spent most of the weekend cleaning up our yard and neighbors.
This is in our backyard. Tree down on top of power line. Still waiting to get the power back but we have to have an electician out to fix the junction to the house.
Debris in our yard from other peoples houses.

Back of the house with the elctric line down.

Worst part is the shed that is gone now. We did find it, in the street about 7 houses down from us wrapped around a tree.

Here is the site from one street over. Pure devastation. Does not even compare to our house and so I am very humbled and can not even complain at all about our little situation when I look at this picture.

We spent all of saturday cleaning (about 10 hours to be exact). Things are coming alone nicely and we are getting things in our house and our neighbors houses put back together. We are still staying with friends as we have no power and not sure when that will come on. We are very blessed for our friends and can still celebrate Easter with some great friends.

Good Friday and Happy Easter

We are celebrating with lots of family time at home and lots of remembrance of The Sacrifice that was made for us.

We may take part in some of the fun games too:) Look at these cute baskets I got for them. Then my friend Nicole used her magical machine to personalize them!!! I love it and she has opened an etsy shop:) Check it out.

Happy Easter!!! He has Risen!!!!

Carson - 4 Months Old

Carson turned 4 months old on the 13th!!! I am a little behing on my blogging lately, sorry. We had his check up at the doctor on his birthday. I can't believe how much he has grown. He now weighs 16 pounds and 4 ounces and he is 26 and 3/4 inches long. That puts him at 80th percentile for weight and over 95th for height. He has become my long skinny boy lately (although he still has those great cheeks!!!)
He is smiling and laughing like crazy. He is not rolling over yet, but very close. You can tell that he wants to so bad. He follows things closely and is loving to play with toys. He can grasp some small things and has started on some rice cereal (I will post pictures later as that deserves its own post:) He is napping better during the day in the crib (Kaylee had an issue with this one too) but he is not sleeping through the night yet. I am still up once or twice in the night (working hard on this one.)
Kaylee and him are already close. She loves him so much and he just smiles every time she is around. He loves it when she sings to him. If he is at all fussy in the car, she starts singing "Jesus loves me" and he goes right to sleep. Makes a mom proud:)

Love you , Carson!!!

picture update

I was told that I have not posted many pictures of Carson lately. We have been a little busy around here but here are a few: Tummy time (of course Kaylee has to join in also) She is trying to teach him to roll over. I took the kids up to Rockford to visit with my grandma (GG). This was the first time she met Carson.
Just some sibling love (I love Carson's face:)
I finally got a good picture of him smiling and he even started laughing out loud a few weeks ago.

He has a baby mum mum cracker in his hands but not really eating it. Kaylee ended up eating it for him. Thought maybe it would preoccupy him while I made dinner. We have his 4 month old check up tomorrow so will update on height and weight. Plus we will start him on some food (always for some good pictures:)
